Why This Initiative Matters

One of the PMI Lebanon Chapter’s strategic priorities is to extend the value of project management beyond the PMI community and into organizations where it can create measurable business impact.

Through its “Spotlight on Project Management” initiative, the Chapter introduces practical project management concepts that strengthen leadership, encourage continuous learning, and promote organizational excellence.

As part of this effort, the PMI Lebanon Chapter partnered with ABC Lebanon to deliver interactive workshops at both the Achrafieh and Verdun branches, engaging professionals from across the organization.

First Stop: ABC Achrafieh | Friday, April 17, 2026

The initiative began with a workshop at ABC Achrafieh, where participants explored the fundamentals of modern project management and how structured practices improve collaboration, decision-making, and project success.

Led by Mr. Paul Awkar, Vice President of Professional Development, and Ms. Sarah Abou Hamdan, Vice President of Membership, the session combined practical examples with interactive discussions while introducing participants to the PMI community and its professional development opportunities.

Continuing the Journey: ABC Verdun | Tuesday, May 5, 2026

Building on the success of the first session, the Chapter delivered the same workshop to the ABC Verdun team.

Participants explored how project management principles support operational excellence, teamwork, and continuous improvement, reinforcing the growing interest among Lebanese organizations in adopting structured approaches to project delivery.

Student Leadership in Action

A key contributor to the initiative was Mr. Ashraf Hammad, a member of the PMI Lebanon Chapter Student Board, who coordinated both workshops.

His contribution reflects the Chapter’s commitment to empowering future project leaders by providing students with meaningful opportunities to support real community engagement initiatives while strengthening connections between academia and industry.

Impact

Across both workshops, ABC professionals gained practical insights into how structured project management supports better planning, collaboration, decision-making, and organizational performance.

The initiative also strengthened the partnership between the PMI Lebanon Chapter and ABC Lebanon, demonstrating how collaboration between professional associations and private-sector organizations can help build stronger project management capabilities across Lebanon.

Looking Ahead

Following the successful delivery of the workshops at both ABC Lebanon branches, the PMI Lebanon Chapter plans to expand the “Spotlight on Project Management” initiative to additional organizations across the country.

By sharing practical knowledge, fostering professional development, and building stronger partnerships, the Chapter remains committed to advancing project management excellence throughout Lebanon.
