From October 3 to 5, 2025, chapter leaders from across the MENA region met in Bahrain for the MENA Leadership Institute Meeting, with workshops, meetings, and networking events in the presence of PMI and PMI MENA leaders. The meeting focused on chapters’ current and future strategies, around PMI’s blueprint for chapter success: uniting purpose, engagement, and culture. Five cornerstone initiatives were discussed at length: MORE, the Flywheel strategy, the Student Engagement Roadmap, the Chapter Value Proposition, and Culture Rituals.
Purpose at the Core
PMI’s purpose is clear: maximize project success to elevate our world. It comes to life through the Flywheel model, in which chapters build momentum by aligning core services, stakeholders, and strategic activities.
Engaging the Next Generation
With more than 25 million project managers needed by 2030, PMI’s Student Engagement Roadmap helps chapters launch student clubs, build faculty partnerships, and offer hands-on experiences that develop power skills and career readiness.
Defining and Delivering Value
The Chapter Value Proposition Workshop helps leaders craft compelling, member-centric statements that reflect their chapter’s unique benefits. Using the ALIVE framework, chapters assess member needs, innovate offerings, and communicate impact clearly.
Living the Culture
PMI’s culture (Make It Easy, Aim Higher, Be Welcoming, Embrace Curiosity, Together We Can) is embedded through rituals, systems, storytelling, and recognition. Chapters are encouraged to design local practices that reflect these values and foster belonging.
Sparking the MORE Movement
The MORE Call to Action redefines project success as delivering value beyond effort and expense. Chapters play a key role by promoting ownership, managing perceptions, reassessing parameters, and expanding perspectives through mentoring, events, and advocacy.
Together, these initiatives form a powerful roadmap for chapters to grow sustainably, engage meaningfully, and lead with purpose.
