PMI® Agile 2026 brought the practitioner-driven spirit of Agile Alliance and the PMI global community together for a focused look at where agile is going next for practitioners, teams and organizations. Across keynotes, breakout sessions and community events, the conference worked through the questions shaping agile work now: how to adapt with AI, connect strategy to execution, lead through change and keep people at the center.
It also showed the continued momentum of the PMI and Agile Alliance partnership, bringing a global professional community together while preserving the practitioner-led culture that has long defined the agile movement.
PMI® Agile 2026 took place in National Harbor, Maryland, USA, in July 2026, bringing together agile practitioners, leaders, technologists, coaches and change-makers. Discussions moved from AI-powered teams and enterprise agility to leadership, organizational transformation and the enduring importance of human connection.
Elisabeth Hendrickson and Joel Tosi opened the conference with “Rethinking How Organizations Change”, challenging conventional approaches to transformation and exploring why organizations often experience constant change without meaningful results. An executive panel with Pierre Le Manh, David Dabscheck, Colleen Johnson and Dr. Vince Molinaro examined how leaders navigate complexity, connect strategy to execution and create lasting value in rapidly evolving environments.
Highly attended sessions covered the project professional’s identity in the age of AI, AI-native teams (where backlogs became idea logs and refinement gave way to rapid prototyping), outcome-driven roadmaps and leadership’s role in enterprise agility, including decentralizing decision-making and using guardrails instead of gatekeepers. Community moments included Agile Coach Camp Worldwide, Reimagining Agility, Hack for Good and the volunteer “Purple Shirts”.
Dr. Johan Roos closed the conference with “The Fourth Value: Human Magic in the Age of Algorithms”, on why human-centricity remains the load-bearing value of the “Manifesto for Enterprise Agility” and why AI raises the stakes for judgment, curiosity, wisdom, creativity and learning.
