On Monday, March 16, 2026, the PMI MENA region hosted a distinguished online panel that brought together six PMI Chapter Presidents from across the Middle East and North Africa for a conversation on leadership, resilience, and impact, as part of International Women’s Day 2026.
PMI President and CEO Pierre Le Manh delivered the opening remarks. He emphasized that leadership today extends beyond individual achievement, focusing on enabling others, strengthening communities, and turning strategy into meaningful outcomes, and highlighted the importance of inclusive leadership in driving innovation and sustainable progress across the region.
Moderated by PMI Regional Managing Director Hanny Alshazly, the session featured Riam Chazbeck (Lebanon), Dr. Tahani I. Aldosemani (Saudi Arabia), Amina Abdulrahim (UAE), Nadia Borshek (Jordan), Sara Chetoui (Morocco), and Imen Fakhfekh (Tunisia).
Insights on Leadership and Regional Impact
The discussion offered diverse perspectives on leading projects and communities across the region. Each speaker shared personal experiences and practical lessons from their leadership journeys, highlighting resilience, adaptability, and purpose-driven decision-making. A recurring theme was the evolving role of leadership in complex environments: effective leaders balance strategic thinking with emotional intelligence, building trust, empowering teams, and creating inclusive environments where people can thrive.
Empowering the Next Generation
The panel also shed light on the growing role of women leaders in shaping the future of project management across MENA. Through mentorship, community engagement, and active leadership, the speakers are paving the way for the next generation of professionals, a reminder that leadership is not only about delivering results but also about creating opportunities and long-term impact.
A Conversation, Not a Presentation
Designed as an open dialogue rather than a formal presentation, the session encouraged authentic exchanges between the speakers and participants. Hanny Alshazly closed with reflections on leadership that goes beyond execution, requiring empathy, resilience, mentorship, and a commitment to building strong, connected communities.
