“Project management has no professional boundaries.”

The PMI Lebanon Chapter Student Club collaborated with the Lebanese Pharmacy Students Association (LPSA) as part of its Impact Makers: Leaders in Training Workshop, delivering a dedicated session titled Future-Ready Pharmacists: Leading Through Project Management.

Building the Project Management Foundation

The first part of the session was led by Mr. Houssein Hassan, President of the PMI Lebanon Chapter Student Club, who introduced pharmacy students to project management as a practical and relevant skill for their future careers. He explored how project management principles are already applied across pharmacy and healthcare settings, demonstrating that these capabilities extend far beyond traditional project management roles.

Houssein also introduced participants to PMI and its professional certifications, with particular emphasis on the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)® as an entry point for students seeking to build a strong project management foundation early in their careers.

From Pharmacy to Project Leadership

The second part featured Dr. Romy Faour, PharmD, MPH, PMP®, who shared her personal journey from pharmacy into project management and leadership. Her experience offered students a practical perspective on how project management can complement a pharmacy career, open new professional opportunities, and enable greater leadership and impact.

The strong engagement of participating students reflected their interest in these possibilities and highlighted the value of introducing project management capabilities early in professional development.

For the PMI Lebanon Chapter Student Club, the collaboration with LPSA reinforced an important message: project management has no professional boundaries. In an increasingly projectized world, the ability to understand projects, lead teams, and apply a project management mindset is becoming increasingly valuable across industries and professions.

By bringing project management closer to pharmacy students, the initiative helped equip a new generation of professionals to advance their careers and lead meaningful change.
