“For most of my career, the scarce resource was information. Today, information is instant and almost free. What has become scarce is practical wisdom — knowing which answer is worth acting on.”

Dr. Johan Roos, Professor of Strategic Management at Luxembourg School of Business

AI can accelerate analysis, but project professionals still need to determine what matters, what context is missing, and who owns the outcome. Five practical guidelines show how human judgment can strengthen AI-assisted decision-making in complex project environments.

AI is increasing the speed of project work, but the value those projects deliver depends on whether organizations can raise the quality of human judgment, learning, and coordination at the same pace. Project professionals surface critical context through relationships, observation, and day-to-day interaction, turning AI-informed recommendations into decisions that hold inside the organization.

Navigating this modern project environment was the theme of a PMI webinar hosted by Lenka Pincot, featuring Professor Johan Roos of Hult International Business School and Luxembourg School of Business, Dr. Leon Herszon of Value Edge Group, and Ronald van Loon of Intelligent World. Their perspectives highlighted five guidelines for applying human judgment: filtering for what matters, testing decisions against the system, surfacing tacit knowledge, using AI to challenge decisions rather than make them, and defining governance before adding more AI.

Recap

Key takeaways

  • Treat AI output as an input to a decision rather than the final decision-maker.
  • Evaluate AI recommendations at the system level before taking action.
  • Surface the tacit knowledge and informal experience that AI systems lack.
  • Use AI as a critical thinking partner to challenge assumptions and preferred options.

We are entering an AI-driven era where the biggest challenge is not technology, but a people challenge. It’s how organizations adapt, decide, and execute. My work focuses on supporting enterprises that can continuously adapt and deliver value at speed, with professionals skilled to drive transformations on this journey.

As Chief of Staff to the CEO at PMI, I operate at the intersection of strategy, execution, and transformation. I'm leading global initiatives, shaping thought leadership, and working closely with CEOs and senior leaders across industries.

Over the past 20+ years, I’ve led enterprise transformations in banking, technology, and global organizations. Today, I focus on advancing enterprise agility & project management as a business capability - not as a methodology, but as a way to rethink how organizations operate in a world shaped by AI, complexity, and frequent change.

I share insights on enterprise agility and operating models, AI and its impact on leadership and work, bridging strategy and execution through the project management profession, and leadership in complex environments.

In the end, transformation is not about frameworks. It’s about how people think, decide, and work together.

CEO & Principal Analyst, Intelligent World | Global Top10 AI Influencer | Helping Leaders Navigate GenAI & Agentic AI Decisions.

The world is becoming AI-driven — but most organizations struggle not with AI technology, but with AI decisions.

I help enterprise leaders navigate GenAI and Agentic AI decisions, moving from early research and experimentation to decision-ready intelligence and confident implementation at scale.

As a global top-10 AI & data influencer and CEO & Principal Analyst at Intelligent World, I work at the intersection of:
➨GenAI & Agentic AI
➨Enterprise AI strategy & governance
➨AI market intelligence & decision frameworks
➨Vendor evaluation and selection

Across AI, data, cloud, and automation, I see the same pattern repeatedly:
AI initiatives fail when organizations lack structure, context, and evidence in their decision-making.

That’s why my work focuses on:
➨Creating AI decision landscapes that structure complex markets
➨Helping leaders understand trade-offs, constraints, and risks
➨Supporting defensible AI decisions for executives, architects, and procurement teams

At Intelligent World, we develop neutral, evidence-based intelligence that supports:
➨Enterprise AI platform selection
➨Agentic AI architecture decisions
➨RFP design and procurement alignment
➨Board-level and audit-ready AI decisions

If you’re an enterprise leader, I help you make sense of the GenAI and Agentic AI landscape before committing to vendors or architectures.

If you’re an AI technology provider, I help you understand how enterprises evaluate AI decisions — without promotion or bias.

AI success doesn’t start with tools.
It starts with clarity, structure, and informed decisions.
