PMI has officially announced that a new PMP® exam format will be introduced in July 2026, aligned with the PMBOK® Guide, Eighth Edition.
To support a smooth transition, PMI will launch a pilot phase in January 2026, allowing selected candidates to experience the updated exam format early. Participants in the pilot may also benefit from special incentives.
The update reflects PMI’s ongoing commitment to keeping the PMP® certification relevant and aligned with the evolving needs of the profession. Project professionals are encouraged to stay informed, follow official PMI communications, and plan their certification journey accordingly.
