Words from the Board

A personal letter from one of the Chapter’s Board members.

Building Connections, Creating Opportunities

“Every connection is an opportunity to learn, contribute, and create meaningful impact together.”

Sally Zaatari, VP of Outreach

My professional journey began in education. I have more than 18 years of teaching experience and currently teach at International College in Beirut. I hold a Master of Education in Educational Management and Leadership from the Lebanese American University.

Alongside my work in education, I have been actively involved in volunteer leadership and community initiatives, working with NGOs and collaborating with community partners on projects that address local needs.

My involvement in these initiatives strengthened my interest in project management. I sought to build on this practical experience by developing the knowledge and skills to plan, coordinate, and deliver projects effectively. This motivation led me to complete a Postgraduate Diploma in Project Management at the American University of Beirut and earn my Project Management Professional (PMP®) certification.

My studies introduced me to PMI and deepened my connection with the project management community. I am grateful to serve on the Board of PMI Lebanon Chapter as Vice President of Outreach. In this role, I bring together my experience in education, volunteer leadership, and project management, with a focus on building relationships grounded in trust and shared purpose.

I look forward to strengthening connections with professionals, organizations, educational institutions, and community partners. Through partnerships, learning opportunities, and events, we can create spaces where members exchange perspectives, share expertise, and find new ways to contribute.

I invite you to connect with us! Share an idea, introduce a potential partner, contribute your experience, or join an upcoming activity. Whether you are an experienced project professional or just beginning your journey, your perspective can enrich our community.

I look forward to serving alongside the PMI Lebanon Chapter Board and its members, building connections that support shared learning and meaningful impact.

Thank you.

Sally Zaatari, M.Ed., PMP®
Vice President of Outreach, PMI Lebanon Chapter

Beyond Tomorrow: AI Across Worlds (opens in a new tab)

With Prof. Fadi Hage, Dr. Andre Gholam, Ms. Dania Chaar and 8 more speakers of Beyond Tomorrow: AI Across Worlds (opens in a new tab)

Organized with ISACA Lebanon Chapter and Centre de Formation Professionnelle – CFP-USJ

The Chapter’s Professional Development Day brought project, technology and business professionals together to explore AI, copyright, cybersecurity, enterprise transformation and the links between creativity and science.

Key takeaways

  • Enterprise AI needs reliable business data, process knowledge and governance to move beyond isolated pilots.
  • AI-enabled cybersecurity requires attention to exposed systems and validation of actual risks.
  • Copyright and creativity belong alongside business and technical considerations in AI discussions.

Creative Problem Solving Through Design Thinking & Collaborative Leadership for PMOs (opens in a new tab)

by Dr. Mona Carlos A. Zoughaib, Managing Partner & Co-Founder at We Grow Minds

“Reframe before you roadmap.”

Key takeaways

  • A PMO can deliver on time and still solve the wrong problem: reframe the request before building the roadmap.
  • Creative problem solving is a disciplined rhythm of diverging and converging; leaders protect it and avoid converging too early.
  • Design thinking (empathize, define, ideate, prototype, test) is a learning loop, not a rigid sequence: iteration is progress, not rework.

A Trustworthiness Methodology (opens in a new tab)

by Mr. Robert Snyder, Founder & President at Innovation Elegance, LLC

“Convert your decision traffic jams into decision symphonies.”

Key takeaways

  • Trustworthiness needs competence, honesty, dependability and benevolence together; failing any one undermines the whole team.
  • Double standards, RACI charts that split authority from accountability, verb sprawl and decisions left in meeting notes all keep trust low.
  • Replacing a RACI with five verbs (Draft, Review, Revise, Approve, Distribute) gives every decision a clear owner and a duration.
